Aylesham Primary School

BREAKFAST CLUB / AFTER-SCHOOL CHILDCARE SERVICE

27 March 2019

Most parents will be aware that the school has been running a Pilot After-School Childcare Service this term.  It has been partially successful and the Leadership Team and Governing Body have therefore decided to extend the service until the end of the academic year.

We anticipate that this will become a permanent service offered by the school from September 2019 with the possibility of extending it to school holiday childcare (and possibly to pupils who do not attend the school) at some point in the future.

In the meantime however, in order to ensure that the services is successfully implemented we do need a stronger commitment from parents to utilise the service.

If you would like to book, please contact the school office for an application form.

The details are as follows:-

MORNING SESSION

COST

7.40am - 8.40am

Breakfast served from: 8.00am

£2.50 per session

Breakfast served, including cereals, toast, etc

Please arrive before 7.40am in order to gain access to the school building

AFTERNOON SESSION

COST

£7.00 per session, including a light snack

The After-School Childcare Service would run in conjunction with the After-School Clubs that we also operate which generally finish at 4:15pm. If any children take part in an After-School Club they will be transferred to the After-School Childcare Service by members of the school staff.

Both the After-School Clubs and Childcare Service will be staffed by members of the Aylesham Primary School team. This will help with the setup of the clubs/childcare service and wellbeing of the children, making transition from school to club/childcare service smooth and support effective communication.

In order to use our Childcare Service you will need to register your child. The Childcare Service will then be available for you to use either on a regular or ad-hoc basis. Signing up for the Childcare Service will be on a first come first served basis and we will have limited numbers during our pilot scheme.

Whilst we run the pilot scheme we will be looking at the viability of providing this additional service long-term.  We will be undertaking some research to support a business case and we would therefore appreciate it if you could complete and return the attached Survey Questionnaire.

In the meantime we have decided to operate the ‘pilot’ After-School Childcare Service between Monday 25th February and Friday 5th April 2019 which will also assist us in determining the demand and popularity of this additional service.

If you are interested in signing up your child/children to either the School Breakfast Club or After-School Childcare Service, please complete the appropriate Application Forms and return them to the school office as soon as possible.
