Squirrels Class - Year 2

Welcome to Squirrels Class!

Good morning Parents,

I hope you are all well and staying safe. We are now in Term 6, our final term of this school year!

This year has been very different and it is strange not being able to meet up in school. We continue to provide lessons for the children to ensure that they continue to practise their learning skills.

Please find attached 3 powerpoints that are this weeks lessons. One is Math, one English and the third contains the afternoon lessons. There will be new powerpoints sent out each Sunday.

Our Learning Experience for this Term is 'Once Upon a Time' where we will be developing our story writing skills through a range of Traditional Tales starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Each day the Math lesson contains a teaching video followed by 2 activity sheets for the children to complete in their work books

In Science we will focus on seeds, plants and bulbs. Art is based around the topic of Snow White and includes sketching and pattern making. In PE we will focus on different ways of keeping active and exercising including ball skills, agility and aerobic exercise. Map work is the focus for Geography, looking at compass points and directions, reading maps and designing a map.

If you have any questions regarding any of the planning that is sent out to you please do not hesitate to email me using the class email (squirrels@aylesham.kent.sch.uk) and I will do my best to help. Also it would be great if you could email pictures or details of how your children are getting on with the lessons. I would love to see how well they doing and to see what they are achieving. I will always send a reply to them to ensure we keep in touch.

Thank you for your continued support.
