About Our School

Aylesham Primary School serves the village of Aylesham and the surrounding villages.  It is a ‘good’ school. We are a two form entry school and have the capacity to admit 60 pupils in each year group.

The school moved into a brand new state of the art building in September 2017 and we have some wonderful facilities including a Technology/Art Room, Studio/Music Room, bespoke Library and a large school hall for physical education, games, movement and drama and as a meeting place for whole-school assemblies.

The school grounds are generous and the children enjoy a large area for games including junior size football pitch. We are currently developing our forest school area for all the children to enjoy.

We have a fully inclusive approach and are aware that each child has an individual range of abilities and varying rates of progress in all areas of work and in relationships.  Children with additional educational needs will be catered for by high quality teaching and ability grouping within each class.  Work in class is ability matched and pupils receive extra support or interventions when appropriate according to need.

We have a dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) who is responsible for the co-ordination and provision of work for children who have special needs throughout the school.

Disability Access

Aylesham Primary School is situated on a large site and from September 2017 moved into a brand new modern building. The building is fully DDA Compliant with disabled access and facilities throughout including a lift to the first floor.
